Esther L. Kim
Esther joined the team in 2016 bringing more than two decades of experience in litigation, mediation, estate planning, trust administration, and probate to the table. In December 2020, Esther became a partner at THA&F. Using her skills honed as a sole practitioner and an associate at several firms, Esther’s focus at THA&F is estate planning, trust administration, and probate.
Since 2019, she has been an adjunct professor at UC Berkeley School of Law where she co-teaches Negotiations with her husband, an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division with the U.S Attorney’s Office. Esther continues the firm’s commitment to providing education to the public about estate planning through teaching bi-annual classes for Martinez Adult Education and through her involvement with the East Bay Regional Parks Foundation Planned Giving Committee, where she served for the last three years.
Esther has her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and an advanced taxation degree from Golden Gate University School of Law.
She is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Diablo Valley where she served on the Board in 2018 and is currently on the Board of the Estate Planning & Probate Section of the Contra Costa County Bar Association. She will become the Co-President starting January 2023. Esther is also a member of the Trust & Estates section of the California State Bar.
Esther and her husband raised their family in Walnut Creek and have lived in the Bay Area for over 30 years. As empty nesters, they like to travel, hike and enjoy shopping at the Martinez Farmers’ Market.
